JUNE 2005

Techclub-dc spawns another minijax in spring.

It is happening June 5th at the Black Cat backstage. $5 gets you in. Besides all of the homebrew electronic mayhem Accelera Deck of Scarcelight recordings will be headlining. A few of his friends (Chuck Bettis, Derek Morton, Violet, Sc.all and SK Pop) will hijack the last hour. The details can be "fact checked" at Techclub-dc website!

If you would to perform this open mic style event contact derek - at - mikroknytes dot com.

RedKnyte and Commie64 have been staying active playing live shows and preparing new material as well as helping out others with their mixing and mastering needs. Artists who have recently sought out our engineering skills include INDENT, EBSK, Scott Allison (sc.all), Northern Machine, Violet, The Caution Curves, Stamen & Pistils, Portions Toll and Son of Nun.

a new collection of knyte trax:
Expect to see the fruits of our studio come late fall. Its always a long process for us, tweaking, listening, remixing, throwing away stuff, starting over, overdubbing, more thumb piano, less cowbell.. you get the point. The next release is very TBA but you may hear stuff soon in the form of CDR releases... more on that a bit down the page.

the kids like kavekavity, our studio with a f*ck#d up name -
Its on the top floor without an elevator. No windows, just pure magic. The initiated are sworn to secrecy. If you want the scoop check out the beginnings of a site dedicated to kavekavity studio. We specialize in mastering radio-unfriendly releases. We don't laugh at your noise, hum, or onkyo-inspired sound art, and we wont compress the personality out of your recordings.

mr commie64 is moving up north to a place called new york city:
How much would it take to bribe you to move to NYC? Derek found out recently and he is relocating with his current place of employment to the big city. There will be much commuting back and forth as kavekavity will remain in Takoma Park. The good thing is that the Knytes may have access to more NYC gigs. Estimated move date is sometime this June.

leaving on a jet plane....sometime in September.
the knytes are hoping to make their first west coast debut in September. Dates in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and possibly Vancouver. If you are reading this and want to help please email derek-at-mikroknytes.com
