SHOW ALERT – Knytes to perform in NYC at Cakeshop on Sunday October 27th

The Mikroknytes will be surfacing for a show in NYC at the Cakeshop. The performance will consist of dueling modular synths and of course violin and other visual trickery. LUTKIE, drone sensation GRASSHOPPER DRUM & BUGLE CORPSE DRUM MAJOR MATTHEWS, and a serious G-!ROCK! band from Portland called THE BUGS will share the stage. See below for the set times.

At times… e-bowy banjo feedback – beatboxed to teethy violin squeak bites into leftover chicken scrap however mostly a pleasant mellow drone meditation consistently of gentle violin loops and filtered sounds.

This was originally released at the Sonic Circuits Festival, Washington DC, in 2006 as a limited edition CDR run, about 10 made it into peoples hands. The recording was made in the studio while the Knytes were preparing for their upcoming show with Phill Niblock.


Yes, its a very weirdly named record. In 2005, we were beginning our transition from a band very influenced by the studio to a band that allowed our noise improvisations and various chaotic synth patches to take charge. This is not to say they we avoided slicing and dicing in the studio, however our focus was to allow more of the live set to enter the realm of our recordings. This record also marks the first time that I began employing my Ciat-Lonbarde Fourses into ‘Knytes material. ┬áTake a listen here:
